After the Bangladesh Test series, India will welcome West Indies to play T20I and ODI series. This will be the second time in this year that India will play the series against Windies.

T20I venues change: Mumbai swapped with Hyderabad

India will play three-match T20I series starting from 6th December. The venues for the match have been swapped. Now, the first T20I match will be played in Hyderabad (earlier it was scheduled in Mumbai). Second T20I match will be played as per the initial schedule on 8th December in Thiruvanthapuram. The third and final T20I match will be played in Mumbai (earlier scheduled in Hyderabad).

Mumbai Police expressed that they would not be able to give security to the teams as 6th December is the anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition and also the “Mahaparinirvan Din” of B R Ambedkar. The city will be in the high alert on this day. MCA official confirmed to PTI that they have taken the decision after discussing to Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA).

“The BCCI has agreed to swap the dates of the Mumbai (December 6) and Hyderabad (December 11) games. We were able to carry out the swap after HCA president Mohammed Azharuddin agreed,” a senior Mumbai Cricket Association official told PTI.

According to reports, HCA president Mohammad Azharuddin accepted the proposal to swap the venue otherwise MCA would have lost the match.

After the T20I series, India will play the three-match ODI series, starting from 15th December to 22nd December.

Earlier, this year in August, India toured Caribbean land where they were unbeaten in all the three series. India played 3 T20Is, 3 T20Is and two Test matches against West Indies. West Indies was defeated badly in all the departments.
