The Australia-India Test series in Australia is around one year away to begin, but the buzz has already started to grow up, especially for the day/night Test match. Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir feels that the Indian captain Virat Kohli will be ready to play the day/night Test match against the hosts Australia. Also, Gautam Gambhir commented what he should advise to the Australian Test captain if he was Virat Kohli.
India had a historic tour in Australia during the previous summer. It was the first time when India won a Test series in Australia as Virat Kohli-led India won the four-match Test series by 2-1.
During that tour, Cricket Australia (CA) requested the Indian national cricket team to play a day/night pink-ball Test match. However, the visitors declined that request. Recently, the Indian captain Virat Kohli has revealed that they had no preparation time for that Test match and that’s why they denied playing that Test.
As India have recently played their first-ever day/night pink-ball Test match against Bangladesh, there is a huge possibility that we can see a day/night Test match between Australia and India in next summer. Even, Virat Kohli has clarified that they are ready to play more day/night Tests in future if they get proper practice.
Recently, the Australian Test captain Tim Paine has taken a cheeky dig at Kohli when he revealed that they would ask the Indian team to play a day/night Test match in next summer.
Tim Paine recently quoted about this, “As I said we’ll ask Virat and see if we can get his permission to play here and maybe even get a Pink-ball Test if he’s in a good mood. So we’ll wait and see.”

Gautam Gambhir believes that Virat Kohli-led India will play a day/night Test match against the hosts Australia in the next summer.
Gambhir said, “I like the way Australia skipper Tim Paine has “flighted” one for India captain Virat Kohli, challenging him to play a day-night fixture on the next tour Down Under. Knowing Virat he is not the one to back out. And why should he?
“A day-night Test match between India and Australia at Brisbane or the MCG will be quite a spectacle. And you can trust Aussies to make it a truly memorable game by some smart marketing.”
Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir also revealed what he would advise to the Australian Test captain if he was Virat Kohli.
Gambhir said, “I haven’t seen Virat’s response for Paine but if I was him I would have straight away told him to make some late-night babysitting arrangements as we were ready!!!”
