West Indies cricketers surprised the hosts along with everyone else when they opened the first ODI with a victorious gameplay. The best of the Indian cricketers were bested out by the Windies’ pacemen, and India stumbled down to a total of 287 scores which the visitors made it seem like a jack’s play. The Caribbeans won the match by eight wickets with more than two overs to spare.

Nevertheless, the fiery Men in Blue took the next game in their hands and levelled the series by 1-1. India gave away a target of 388 runs that was studded with a sizzling century of Rohit Sharma (159) and KL Rahul (102). West Indies, on the other hand, could not reach the target and were taken down by the hosts within 44 overs for 280 runs.
