India registered a facile win in the second T20I against Sri Lanka at Indore and the hosts would look to seize the series in Pune. It was a collective team effort from the Virat Kohli-led side as they dominated the visitors in every aspect of the game. The bowlers did a fine job in restricting Sri Lanka to a paltry score of 142 runs and then the batsmen made a merry of it.

India’s two young pacers, Shardul Thakur and Navdeep Saini were the positives in the second match. Saini bowled with fire as he got the better off Danushka Gunathilaka with a 148 km/h thunderbolt. Furthermore, Shardul Thakur took three wickets in his final over to keep Sri Lanka at bay.

India was too good for Sri Lanka.

The tourists were never able to get the momentum in their batting side and they would like to take charge in the final match of the series. India had a tight grip on the whole match and dictated the terms right throughout.

On the other hand, it was a collective effort in the batting unit as well. KL Rahul provided a quick start as he continued his dream form going. However, Rahul’s opening partner Shikhar Dhawan who was making a comeback from injury failed to find his timing. Dhawan meandered to 32 runs off 29 balls and failed to get the ball in the middle of the bat.

Shreyas Iyer who was promoted to number three once again delivered the goods. However, the right-hander must have been disappointed as he could not remain unbeaten. Kohli was never letting the run-chase slip from India’s hand as the hosts got over the line with ease.

Match Prediction:

India will once again start as overwhelming favorites and they would like to close out the series. The hosts had ticked the right boxes in Indore and they would aim to do the same in Pune. Sri Lanka will need to be at their toes to challenge the potent Indian side.
