Virat Kohli and Co. in the third T20I match set the target of 180 runs for New Zealand at Seddon Park in Hamilton. The highest scorer for India in the game was the limited-overs vice-captain, Rohit Sharma. He played an amazing innings to give a solid start to the team.
In the first and second T20I matches at Eden Park, Rohit didn’t have good outings with the bat. He scored seven and eight runs in the 1st and 2nd T20I matches respectively. However, India went on to win both the matches, to lead the series 2-0.

In the third T20I game, asked to bat first, Sharma came up all guns blazing. He brilliantly scored 65 runs in 40 balls. In the over of pacer Hamish Bennett, the ‘Hit-Man’ struck three maximum and two fours. It proved to be the most expensive over for New Zealand as 26 runs came from only five balls.

However, in the 10th over of the game, Bennett was successful in taking the wicket of Indian opener Rohit. The pacer, who is playing his first T20I series, might be relieved after taking the wicket of Sharma.
Rohit Sharma completes 10,000 runs in international cricket:
In Hamilton, Rohit completed his 10,000 runs as an opener in International cricket. He also became the fourth Indian batsman and 21st overall batsman to complete 10,000 international runs as an opening batsman.
Virat Kohli also achieved the milestone as an Indian captain. He surpassed MS Dhoni’s record of the highest run-scorer as Indian skipper in T20Is.
On Wednesday (29th January), Kohli scored 38 runs off 27 balls and became the third-highest scorer as a skipper in T20I with 1127 runs. Whereas, South Africa’s ex-T20I captain Faf Du Plessis tops the chart with 1,273 T20I runs.
