Rohit Sharma reached another feat during the Hamilton T20I as he completed 10,000 runs in international cricket as an opening batsman.
On Wednesday (29th January), India are playing the third game of the five-match T20I series against the hosts New Zealand. After winning the toss, the hosts decided to bowl first.
Indian openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul provided a very good start with the 89 runs partnership. Rohit dominated in that partnership and registered a half-century. After scoring 65 runs off 40 balls (6 fours and 3 sixes), Rohit was dismissed, but he already reached the top feat in international cricket.

Before this match, Rohit was 48 runs behind from the 10,000 international runs as an opening batsman. Playing his 219th international innings as an opener during this Hamilton T20I, the right-handed batsman completed 10,000 runs. Rohit became the fourth Indian batsman and 21st overall batsman to complete 10,000 international runs as an opening batsman.

After reaching this milestone, Rohit Sharma became the second-fastest opening batsman to score 10,000 runs in international cricket. While he reached this feat in 219th innings, the legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar took 214 international innings as an opener to reach this 10,000 runs milestone.

After this innings, Rohit Sharma has scored 10,017 international runs as an opening batsman in 219 innings. In overall, the right-handed batsman has scored 13,969 runs in 369 international innings (363 matches).
