The 3rd T20I in Hamilton had to go through a super over to decide the winner of the five-match series. In the recent past, Kane Williamson’s side faced England in super over, first in the World Cup finals and then in the T20I series.
However, their fate didn’t change as they lost the match as well as the T20I series against India. Moreover, disappointed New Zealand skipper Williamson also believes that Super overs bring bad luck to them.
It was disappointing not to cross the finishing line: Kane Williamson

In Hamilton, the death specialist Jasprit Bumrah bowled the super over while Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson came to bat. Bumrah conceded one six and two fours in the super over. The hosts then set the target of 17 runs for India.
Interestingly, Rohit Sharma struck two sixes in the last ball of the Super over on the bowling of Tim Southee. And, Virat Kohli and Co. went on to win register the first-ever win in the T20I series in New Zealand. Though there are still two matches to be played.
After the match, Williamson, who scored 95 runs at Seddon Park, was disappointed because of his remarkable effort with the bat.
“Super overs haven’t been too successful for us so we needed to be a little bit better to win it in regular time. A great game of cricket, India again showed their experience in crunch situations. It is a really important experience for us to take from and move on,” he stated.
Kane Williamson expresses disappointed after Hamilton loss:

“Very disappointing after coming off from an effort like that. It was nice to spend some time in the middle and build some partnerships because starting on this deck wasn’t easy. It was disappointing not to cross the finishing line. It is a game of small margins. It was a much better performance from us,”
Now, after winning the T20I series, India will head to play the fourth game at Westpac Stadium on 31st January.
