Delhi Capitals, who were formerly known as Delhi Daredevils, benefited from the name and logo change as they ended their seven-year exile by qualifying for the playoffs of IPL 2019. RCB will also also hope that changes in external factors affect their on-field performance as well.

While the team and fans are celebrating the new changes, Vijay Mallya, the former owner of RCB, took to twitter to take a subtle dig at the franchise. Mallya was straight to business and asked RCB to win the trophy.

Mallya was associated from 2008 to 2016 before he left India. He now stays in London and has no links with RCB.

Talking of RCB’s performances over the years, they are still waiting to win their maiden IPL title. RCB have played two finals so far – in 2009 and and 2016 – but fell short on both the occasions.

Virat Kohli, who took over as captain in 2013, continues to lead the team. Under him, RCB have had a poor run so far. They haven’t made made it to the playoffs for three years now. Last year, RCB finished at the eighth spot in the points table.

RCB now have new-look coaching staff but there is no change in captaincy. Mike Hesson, RCB’s director of cricket, heads the staff which includes head coach Simon Katich, Sridharan Sriram, Shankar Basu and Adam Griffith.
