Indian cricket team has finally got the new selectors on Wednesday with Sunil Joshi and Harvinder Singh filling vacant positions. On Wednesday, Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) interviewed shortlisted candidates while several questions were asked but the trickiest question which was asked was none other than MS Dhoni’s future.
The former Indian captain was excluded from the new central contract list for the 2019-20 season. His fall out from the contract has hinted everyone that he is now not in the scheme of Team India.
Meantime, there is news going around that his IPL performance will decide his selection in the Indian team.

Meanwhile, he hasn’t played a competitive match and made himself unavailable after the disheartening semi-final against New Zealand in ICC World Cup 2019.
MS Dhoni’s issue is sensitive yet tricky:
So, the CAC member asked each candidate that if Dhoni makes himself available once again, what will be their take on his selection and being a selector is quite a responsible job.
Besides, a BCCI official expressed that it was an important question for them.
“Yes, the CAC had one common question and that was about their call with regards to Mahendra Singh Dhoni and whether they will select him for T20 World Cup,” a senior BCCI official told PTI.
“Dhoni is both a sensitive and tricky issue and that’s why the question needed to be asked.”

In the end, Joshi and Harvinder were the two candidates whose responses impressed CAC the most. Joshi gained the position of chief selector while Harvinder replaced Gagan Khoda in the panel.
Well, it will be interesting to see how the new selectors will handle the situation when Dhoni will be around. The 38-year-old will be seen in action in the upcoming edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) which will go underway from 29th March.
The first clash will be between MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and four-time champions, Mumbai Indians (MI).
