Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is one of the very popular teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history. In IPL history, this franchise has experienced both high and low sides for multiple times.
Under Gautam Gambhir’s captaincy, KKR won IPL 2012 and 2014. They also played four more playoffs (2011, 2016, 2017 and 2018) but never reached in another IPL final. In the last season, KKR finished in the fifth position and just missed out to qualify for the playoffs due to the lower net run-rate.
Like every other team, KKR are also preparing for the new season of IPL 2020 that will run from 29th March to 24th May.
Ahead of the new season, here we are talking about the three key players who can play the major roles for KKR in IPL 2020.
Pat Cummins

The 26-year-old Australian pacer Pat Cummins is currently in great form with the ball in hand. The right-arm pacer has taken 96 wickets in 80 matches his T20 career. In India, Pat Cummins’ international record is getting well as he has taken 36 wickets in 28 international matches. Meanwhile, the right-arm fast bowler has taken 28 wickets in 26 T20s in India.
Pat Cummins has already experienced three IPL seasons, including two seasons for KKR. He last featured in IPL 2017 for Delhi Daredevils (now known as Delhi Capitals). He has taken 17 wickets in 16 IPL matches, including 15 wickets in 12 matches in IPL 2017.
While Pat Cummins is now a great fast bowler in international cricket, the KKR side is expecting a top response from him in the IPL 2020.
