After a long time, the cricket fans are seeing their many heroes during the early 2000s on the cricket field, thanks to the UnAcademy Road Safety World Series 2020. The Caribbean batting legend Brian Lara has recently named his favourite cricketer at the present moment.
Like some legendary international cricketers, Brian Lara is also currently in India to participate in the ongoing Road Safety World Series. In this five-team T20 tournament, he is leading West Indies Legends.
West Indies Legends played the opening game of this tournament against India Legends where Sachin Tendulkar-led Indian team comfortably beat the Caribbean side. The left-handed batsman Lara scored 17 runs off 15 balls (4 fours) in that game.

Later, Lara involved in an interview with Sportstar where he was asked about his opinion on the performances of the current top batsmen, like Virat Kohli or Babar Azam etc. While he praised Steve Smith, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, he also revealed his favourite cricketer at present.
Lara’s present favourite cricketer is the Indian cricketer KL Rahul, who is currently playing the wicketkeeper-batsman role in the limited-overs international cricket.

Lara told Sportstar, “I follow the West Indies as you know. They did pretty well in Sri Lanka in the T20 version of the game. Around the world, there are so many amazing batsmen to look at. There is Steve Smith, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma. My favourite is K.L. Rahul.”
KL Rahul is a great entertainer: Brian Lara
Lara called Rahul as a class player. Talking more about Rahul’s batting, former West Indies captain pointed out his great technique, positive aggressive spirit etc.

The Caribbean batting legend claimed, “He’s just class. I mean, when you are watching a player, you want to see him play, you want to see great technique, a good aggressive spirit as well. He is a great entertainer, he’s a great person to watch bat. This is as simple as that.”
Lara also admitted that the Indian captain Virat Kohli is the best batsman in the world. However, he personally likes Rahul’s batting.

He added, “He’s no better batsman than Virat Kohli. Virat is the best batsmen in the world, but it’s just the preference of who I like to see bat. No disrespect to anybody else.”
West Indies Legends will play their next match of the Road Safety World Series 2020 on Wednesday (11th March) against South Africa Legends.
