Former Australian all-rounder Brad Hogg has recently revealed who can be the first batsman to score a double-century in T20 cricket.

Since the introduction of T20 cricket, it has hugely grown up popularity globally. The shortest format of cricket has opened up the opportunities of attractive global leagues which has brought the different but more thrilling tastes to the cricket fans.

In the present time, T20 cricket has taken a special space in the cricket world. Moreover, it is the year of the ICC T20 World Cup 2020. While the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 just completed in Australia, the male cricketers are waiting for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 which will be again organised by Australia from 18th October to 15th November 2020.

In the men’s T20 cricket, we have experienced the highest individual score of 175* by Chris Gayle (for Royals Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors India at Bengaluru on 23rd April 2013).

In men’s T20I cricket, the record of the highest individual score is 172 runs by Australian cricketer Aaron Finch (against Zimbabwe at Harare on 3rd July 2018).

Meanwhile, in women’s T20I cricket, the highest individual score is 148* by the Australia Women’s cricketer Alyssa Healy (against Sri Lanka Women at Sydney on 2nd October 2019).

So, we haven’t seen the double-century in professional cricket yet. The T20 double-century is still a high dream for every cricketer. There are only a few batsmen who managed to hit a double-century in the T20 format, but those were not in recognised T20 cricket.

Rohit Sharma is holding the record of the highest individual score in ODI cricket (264 against Sri Lanka at Kolkata on 13th November 2014). He is the only batsman to hit more than one double-century in ODI cricket as the right-handed batsman has hit three ODI double-centuries.
