Sanjay Manjrekar has often been hated or criticised by a large section of fans on social media due to his infamous commentary. While all other commentators have interesting opinions, Manjrekar comes up with a unique opinion that either tends to be boring or unappealing more often than not.

Last year, fans launched a scathing attack on him after he had accused MS Dhoni of not willing to take risks. Even then, Manjrekar kept on criticising Dhoni during the showdown against Bangladesh.

Thereon, Fans trolled the commentator on social media for his biased commentary.

Then again, during the summer’s World Cup in England last year, Manjrekar drew criticism from all quarters when he called Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja as ‘bits and pieces’ cricketer.

The commentator even had an on-air tussle with co-commentator Harsha Bhogle regarding the visibility of pink ball during India’s historic first-ever pink-ball affair.

Sanjay Manjrekar reacts after BCCI sacked him from commentary panel:

Almost every cricket fan was happy after Manjrekar was sacked by the BCCI from the commentary panel.

As per a media report, Manjrekar was left out of the BCCI commentary box and was not present in Dharamsala for the first ODI between India and South Africa which was washed out without a ball being bowled.

Former India cricketer-turned-commentator Manjrekar has eventually reacted to BCCI’s decision to sack him from the commentary panel. Manjrekar gleefully respected the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) decision to leave him out from its commentary panel for Team India’s international assignments.

“I have always considered commentary as a great privilege, but never an entitlement. It is up to my employers whether they choose to have me or not & I will always respect that. Maybe BCCI has not been happy with my performance of late. I accept that as a professional,” Sanjay Manjrekar wrote on Twitter.

The report further added that Sanjay Manjrekar will not be considered for IPL 2020 commentary commitments. After his sacking from commentary panel, the Chennai Super Kings’ official Twitter handle took a dig at Sanjay Manjrekar.

In the latest development, IPL has been suspended until April 15 amid coronavirus fears across the globe.

So much so, the remaining two ODIs of the three-match series vs South Africa were also called off.
