India has not produced many captains like Virat Kohli who are aggressive and took charge of the game from the get-go. The Indian skipper maintains special energy in the field. His attitude has been praised by some cricket pundits while some points that it is not healthy for a captain to become too aggressive. Former Indian cricketer Madan Lal, who is now a member of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), has said that he enjoys Kohli’s attitude in the field.
Recently, Kohli was criticized for using cuss word when Kane Williamson got out during the Test series. He was also caught hurling abuses spectators in New Zealand.
On the other hand, his performance was worst in the ODI as well as Test series. However, as said, the greats of the game are not judged by two or three bad innings.
I love the way Virat Kohli is on the field: Madan Lal

Although the New Zealand tour ended on a bad note for India, Madan Lal doesn’t want Kohli to change his approach during the game.
“First, everyone wanted a very aggressive captain and now you want Kohli to stop his aggressive streak. I love the way he is on the field. Earlier, people used to say that Indians are not aggressive; now that we’ve become aggressive people question that and ask why we are so aggressive. I enjoy Kohli’s aggression; we need a captain like him,” he was quoted as saying by Times of India.

Lal also believes whether the captain was out of form, Kohli will remain for him the world’s best player.
“He was out of form. You can say it was a loss of confidence. That (series against New Zealand) doesn’t take anything away from him. He is still the world’s best player. At times, technical flaws come in and you then try harder and harder but still you don’t come out of it. It happens to the best of players,” he stated.
After the one-month-long tour, the captain would have thought to gain his momentum back in the ODI series against South Africa at home. But the coronavirus pandemic has halted all the games.
So, whether Kohli is out of form or in-form every question will be answered when Kohli will come out to bat again for India.
