The present year is very important for T20 cricket as it is the year of the ICC T20 World Cup. While the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 has been organised successfully in Australia, the country will also organise the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 in later this year. While there is a doubt over the future of the upcoming Men’s T20 WC in the wake of COVID-19 or coronavirus outbreak, the Cricket Australia (CA) is hopeful to organise this tournament on time successfully.

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 has been scheduled to be played between 18th October and 15th November 2020. While coronavirus has forced to shut down the daily routine in worldwide, cricket has also affected as most of the recent cricket events have been postponed. Though there is still enough time to begin the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020, the gradually increasing cases of coronavirus have raised doubts about this tournament.

However, CA is hoping that the global situation will improve soon. While they are continuously monitoring the present situation, they believe that the tournament will be organised in time.

CA chief executive Kevin Roberts claimed according to cricket.com.au, “We’re really hoping that all forms of sport can be played again in a few weeks or a few months’ time.

“None of us are experts in this situation obviously, so our hope is that we’re back in very much normal circumstances come October and November when the men’s T20 World Cup is to be played.”
