While a fan asked him for a few words about MS Dhoni.

McClenaghan replied the fan, “Rather not bowl to him ?”

Mitchell McClenaghan made his international debut in December 2012. He was once a regular player for New Zealand as he was the fastest Kiwi bowler to take 50 ODI wickets (in 23 ODIs). But later, his position has been faded away from the national team due to the tough competitions and fitness issues.

Last time, he served for the Blackcaps in March 2016. While he has played one more international match after that in May 2018 but it was for ICC World XI.

McClenaghan has played 48 ODIs and 29 T20Is where he has taken 82 and 30 wickets respectively.

Format Runs Balls Outs Dots 4s/6s Strike-rate
ODIs 35 41 1 22 4/0 85.37
T20s 31 25 1 10 2/2 124.00

(Special Note: T20s means all kind of recognised T20 cricket matches. However, McClenaghan and Dhoni have never met in the T20I cricket yet)

As McClenaghan hasn’t a good experience against Dhoni, the Kiwi bowler feels it is better to not bowl to him.
