While the novel COVID-19 or coronavirus is dominating the world, which is raising some uncertainty on future events, the future of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 is still doubtful at the present moment. However, the International Cricket Council (ICC) members are still not feeling any threat about the upcoming T20 World Cup as none of them has asked to change the date of the tournament.
Australia will host the seventh ICC Men’s T20 World Cup from 18th October to 15th November 2020. But while the entire world is struggling to beat coronavirus, nobody knows when the crisis period will end as many countries are facing the lockdown to stop the virus cycle.
With the time progress, some international cricket events and the reputed cricket leagues have been postponed in the wake of coronavirus. However, during the recent meeting on last Friday (27th March), the ICC members didn’t ask for the scheduling review of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020.

A source recently told ANI, “Nothing has changed since the board meeting release and no member is asking for a date change as of now.”
Like the many countries, Australia is also struggling to beat the coronavirus. The country is now planning to seal the borders for at least the next six months. If they finally follow this action, it can hugely affect the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020.
We are planning for the event to go ahead as scheduled: ICC earlier said about the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020
Earlier, before the ICC meeting, the ICC has clarified that they are monitoring all the situations but confident enough to organise the entire forthcoming T20 World Cup in Australia successfully.

The ICC stated in the media release, “In response to the ongoing coronavirus crisis, the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 Local Organising Committee is monitoring the situation closely with relevant authorities, and will continue to do so.
“The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is scheduled to take place from 18 October – 15 November 2020 in seven venues across Australia. We are planning for the event to go ahead as scheduled.”
A total of 16 teams will participate in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020.
