India’s head coach Ravi Shastri labelled former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh as a legend for winning the World Cup 2011. The World Cup-winner Yuvraj had earlier took a dig at Shastri for not mentioning him in the post which latter shared to congratulate players for the 2011 World Cup victory on its ninth anniversary.
On Thursday (2nd April), all Indian fans celebrated yet another anniversary of the 2011 World Cup victory. Taking to Twitter, Ravi Shastri posted the video of MS Dhoni’s winning six when latter hit it against Sri Lanka in the grand finale of the mega event. The former cricketer also tagged Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli in his post.

Yuvraj took the moment to roast his senior cricketer. Replying to Shastri’s post, the sixer king wrote that he should not only tag Sachin and Virat but also the former Indian captain MS Dhoni and him.

Well, Shastri came up with an astonishing reply. He wrote:

Ravi Shastri was also part of the 1983 World Cup-winning team which was led by the legendary cricketer Kapil Dev. Shastri played for India from 1981 to 1992. He has played 80 Test matches and 150 ODIs. After retiring from the cricketer’s job, he started commentary and also joined the administration. He has been the coach of the Indian national cricket team from 2017 and his tenure will end after the 2021 T20 World Cup.

After the wait of 28 years, the Indian team led by MS Dhoni brought the World Cup home after beating Sri Lanka by six wickets at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. Yuvraj Singh played a pivotal role in India’s victory though he was suffering from the deadly disease. He was awarded as the Man of the Tournament for his excellent form.
The veteran retired from the game last year after he was not selected in the World Cup 2019 squad. Currently, he plays foreign leagues like Global T20 Canada and Abu Dhabi T10 league.
