The 19-year-old Indian Women’s cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues has recently revealed her favourite cricket shot along with her favourite batsman for this shot. Jemimah Rodrigues is now a star cricketer in the Indian Women’s national cricket team. The youngster recently represented her nation in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020, where her team finished as the runners-up.
Well, Rodrigues didn’t shine much with the bat in that particular tournament. Rodrigues has already shown her quality in the early international career. Many believe that Rodrigues is the future of this team.
Rodrigues made her international debut in early 2018. Since then, she has played 16 Women’s ODIs and 44 Women’s T20Is. The right-handed batter has scored 372 runs in Women’s ODIs (average 24.80) and 930 runs in Women’s T20Is (average 26.57).
Jemimah Rodrigues chose cover drive as her favourite shot
Rodrigues has recently revealed that her favourite shot is cover drive shot. Cover Drive shot is known as one of the most skilful and technical shots in cricket. To drive the outside the off-stump ball through the cover region, the batsman needs to provide proper timing with the solid wrist and confident. If a batsman hits a perfect cover drive, it is very watchful for the cricket fans who mostly appreciate the batsman for that effort.
Rodrigues further added that she loved to watch the cover-drive of the 25-year-old Pakistan cricketer Babar Azam. Babar is known as one of the most talented batsmen in the present cricket world.
When a fan asked Rodrigues about her favourite cricket shot, she replied, “Cover drives. I love Babar Azam’s cover drive.”
Since his international cricket debut in 2015, Babar Azam has played 26 Tests, 74 ODIs and 38 T20Is where the right-handed batsman has scored 1850 runs (average 45.12), 3359 runs (average 54.17) and 1471 runs (average 50.72) respectively. At present, Babar Azam is the no.1-ranked T20I batsman, No. 3-ranked ODI batsman and fifth-ranked Test batsman. He is leading the Pakistan team in the T20I format.
