India cricketer Suresh Raina on Tuesday stated that MS Dhoni had quite a few tricks up his sleeves while batting during Chennai Super Kings’ camp last month. The southpaw said that Dhoni was innovating a lot during his time at the nets.

Cricket is still left in MS Dhoni: Suresh Raina
The 38-year-old has not represented India since the 2019 World Cup semi-finals against New Zealand. The former skipper took a sabbatical- skipping India’s home series and the New Zealand tour. Raina, who has been a seasoned campaigner for CSK believes there is still a lot of cricket left in Dhoni.
“He was batting really well. Cricket is still left in him. He has looked innovative. We played practice games and those sixes are as big as they were,” Raina said during an Instagram live session for Chennai Super Kings.

Numerous videos surfaced on social media showing Dhoni’s net session at the Chidambaram stadium. A crowd-favorite, Dhoni received rousing applauds every time he towered a lofty blow. According to Raina, Dhoni didn’t show any signs of being an old horse and that he was still at his very best.
Suresh Raina bats for MS Dhoni, slams selectors
“Three hours of batting in the evening, that too, in Chennai heat is not easy and we did that (during the camp). If you ask me, Mahi bhai is batting brilliantly. His body is not showing signs of aging. He was looking different and was trying to do something else, something different, new. So people will get to know when they see him.” Raina added.
Furthermore, Raina expressed his desire to play for India again. The 33-year-old slammed the selectors for not providing him enough reasons for his ouster from the squad. Once a vital cog in India’s white-ball team, Raina is eyeing to make a comeback ahead of the World T20 in October.
