Recently, former English cricketer Kevin Pietersen wished to watch smile from the former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir’s face. In reply, Gambhir trolled Pietersen by reminding one of his incidents during his international career.
Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir, who was a hero for India’s many successes, is famous for the serious face. Many cricket fans have hardly seen him with the smiling face. Sometimes he has been friendly trolled for his non-smiling face.
After retiring from the game as a player, the cricket-turned-politician Gambhir is active as an expert analyst of the game. In the ongoing lockdown period amid coronavirus outbreak, Star Sports has recently organised a Q&A session where the former New Zealand pacer Danny Morrison can answer along with Pietersen and Gambhir.
While Star Sports promoted this Q&A session on social media sites, Pietersen wished to see Gambhir’s smile.

Can we get GG to smile?

I think the scoreboard read Kevin Pietersen lbw by a certain #piechucker: Gautam Gambhir
In reply, Gambhir reminded Pietersen about his dismissal against the left-arm Indian spinner Yuvraj Singh during 2008 Chennai Test. Pietersen once called Yuvraj as pie-chucker and Gambhir didn’t forget to mention that.

During England’s second innings of the 2008 Chennai Test in December 2008, Yuvraj trapped Pietersen for the lbw for just one run. Pietersen was leading the English team in that entire Indian tour.
Gambhir tweeted, “Well, #legend guess you forgot!!! You have given me many reasons to smile. One of them came in December 2008 in Chennai. I think the scoreboard read Kevin Pietersen lbw b a certain #piechucker @YUVSTRONG12 #AskStar #CricketConnected @StarSportsIndia @KP24 @SteelyDan66”

In that 2008 Chennai Test match, India successfully chased down the 387 runs target in the fourth innings (387/4), thanks to Sachin Tendulkar‘s (103*) unbeaten century as well as Virender Sehwag (83), Gautam Gambhir (66) and Yuvraj Singh’s (85*) impressive batting performances. In Test cricket history, it is still the record fourth-innings chased in India.

In the international career, Yuvraj took 148 wickets in 227 innings. Incidentally, Yuvraj achieved most success as a bowler against Kevin Pietersen as the former English cricketer was the only batsman who was dismissed five times by Yuvraj.
