The world is currently busy to handle the coronavirus pandemic which has forced to cancel or postpone many schedules. However, the International Cricket Council (ICC) is not in the mood to take an early decision on the fate of ICC Men’s 2020 T20 World Cup.

In the last February-March, Australia successfully hosted the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 in front of the record-breaking crowd appearances. However, the present situation is hugely different in the world, including in Australia. As of now, the novel COVID-19 or coronavirus is dominating the world. The coronavirus cases are continuously increasing in the world, along with the death reports.

This virus has forced the countries to go through the lockdown process and stopped all the daily busy lives. Already, many sporting events, including cricket fixtures, have been postponed. As the world is still battling against coronavirus, many cricket fans are now eyeing the fate of the ICC Men’s 2020 T20 World Cup.

According to the fixture, Australia will host the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 from 18th October to 15th November 2020. The ICC is still hopeful about this tournament but monitoring all the situations and getting ready for the tougher situations.

An ICC spokesperson said according to SkySport, “We are continuing with our planning for ICC events as they are, but given the rapidly evolving situation as a prudent and responsible measure we are also undertaking a comprehensive contingency planning exercise.

“This includes exploring all options available to us based on a range of scenarios connected to the pandemic.”

The spokesperson claimed, “We will continue to take advice from experts and authorities, including the Australian government and will take decisions at the appropriate time.

“We will utilise all the data and information available to us to ensure we can take well-informed, responsible decisions that are in the best interests of our sport.”

Many believe that if the ICC Men’s 2020 T20 World Cup goes on according to the schedule, there are very lesser chances to carry on the tournament with the on-field spectators. However, many cricket experts and cricketers believe that it will be not the right time to run the ICC Men’s 2010 T20 World Cup in empty stadiums.
