Indian captain Virat Kohli is one of the best batsmen in the present generation. Not only the Indian cricket experts but also the foreign cricket experts have also praised him for many times. Recently, the Indian right-arm pacer Mohammed Shami spoke about the weakness of batsman Kohli.
Due to scoring runs consistently in every format for a long time, Virat Kohli is now breaking many reputed batting records which were standing for a long time. At present, he is the no.1-ranked ODI batsman, no.2-ranked Test batsman and no.10-ranked T20I batsman. In every international cricket format, Kohli is maintaining the batting average of over 50.

However, during the last tour in New Zealand, Kohli disappointed with his batting performances as it was one of his worst tour experiences in the international career. But many believe that the Indian captain will return to the form very soon.
Recently, Mohammed Shami has talked about the weakness of Kohli’s batting. While Shami didn’t clarify the exact weakness of batsman Kohli, the Indian pacer has admitted that the Indian captain has little flaws in batting.

According to IANS, Shami said, “There are a lot of things that come with playing and spending quality time with another player. You not only come to know of his strengths, but also of his weaknesses. As a bowler, you need to keep working on the weak zones.
“There is no denying the fact that he is the best in the business, but even the best has those little flaws which you can work on. You just need to pick on one factor and focus on that.
“Say for example, which has been the area that has troubled a batsman in recent times? You then work on that. I have dismissed him quite a few times (in the IPL) and without getting into much details, I will say you have to just work on the weak zone.”
In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Mohammed Shami dismissed Kohli for thrice (once in 2016 and twice in 2019). However, in the T20 career, Kohli scored 40 runs off 27 balls (strike-rate 148.15) against Shami, including seven fours.
I think the results bear testimony to the fact that Virat Kohli backs us to the core: Mohammed Shami
On the other hand, Shami credited Kohli for his supportive captaincy which always brought huge confidence to the bowlers. The 29-year-old Indian pacer believes that it helps the bowler to raise their game.

Shami added, “Do I need to say this? I think the results bear testimony to the fact that Virat backs us to the core. He has always given us that freedom to do what we feel confident about. Also, it is very important at the international level to have a captain who knows your strengths and weaknesses and also backs you. This in turn helps you raise your game.
“Also, Virat has a lot of trust in our abilities and he gets the result because as a bowler, all you need is for the captain to back you and believe in you and your vision.”
