Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni is one of the most successful captains in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history. With his unorthodox tactics, Dhoni has led the team to pick three times the IPL trophy. CSK player and South African cricketer Faf du Plessis has said that without Dhoni, CSK will not be the same.
Dhoni has taken the team to 10 playoffs in 11 seasons as well as five-times in the grand-final. The yellow army last won the title in 2018 when Dhoni led the team of senior players who mostly aged near or above thirty. His tactics led them to win the title against Mumbai Indians in the nail-biting final. Well, in 2019, they again were in front of the same opposition but lost the game by a mere margin.
Speaking on an Instagram Live video on CSK’s page, Faf du Plessis, who has played many match-winning knocks for the franchise, said that MS Dhoni has strong leadership skills and his absence will surely cost the kings.
When MS Dhoni is not there, the team is not the same: Faf du Plessis

“MS walks off the field. Chennai is a different team. He has got such strong leadership in the group.”
“When MS is not there, the team is not the same. He leaves a massive hole when is he not in the team.”
“There is one captain in the team so you understand what is your value. I personally, on-field make sure the position of fielders. You help out a little bit to the captain on the day. For guys who want to run the show every time, those people struggle to play under a captain,” he said.
IPL has become a huge part of my life: Faf du Plessis

The South African star said that IPL is a huge part of his life. He noted that IPL gives you a platform to play many players and make some new friendship
“There are more serious things in life than sports I get it, but for us players and fans, IPL has become such an integral part of our season.”
“Every year you know, for the last 10 years, I have been involved with IPL. It has become a huge part of my life. We love to play. It is the pinnacle of playing with different players. The difference with IPL is that you get to play with so many players that you play against all the time and make some new friendships,” he added.
The 13th edition of the IPL has been postponed indefinitely because of the coronavirus. The outbreak of the virus has halted the event and will be played if circumstances get normal.
