MS Dhoni has shown balanced emotion on the field. He handles a very difficult situation in a calm and relaxed manner. For these qualities, he has been labelled as the captain cool. Well, here pacer Ishant Sharma had revealed an incident when the cool captain got irritated because of Jadeja’s bowling.
Ishant reminisced the incident from the Indian Premier League. The senior pacer while playing for Delhi Capitals had a chat with Dhoni, which fired Ishant to hit boundaries.
MS Dhoni taunts Ishant Sharma:
While talking to Gaurav Kapoor on the chat show, he revealed that Chennai Super King’s captain was taunting him that he could not hit sixes. And the chat with Dhoni fired up Ishant. He hit a four and a six in consecutive deliveries of the spinner Jadeja, leaving Dhoni irritated.
“Last year in the IPL, Mahi bhai (Dhoni) used to make fun of me that I can’t hit sixes, saying you don’t have that ability. Then came Jaddu (Jadeja) and I punished him for a four and then I launched a six. Then I turned my head towards Mahi bhai to see his reaction, who looked irritated with Jaddu.”
The unbeaten knock of 10 runs was perhaps Ishant Sharma’s best score in the IPL 2019 as he did not get to bat too often. He has featured 89 times in the lucrative tournament, scoring 55 runs, at an average below 10. He snared wickets and his best figures in 2011 season when he registered a fifer.
Ishant was injured during the New Zealand tour, and his participation was under question in IPL 2020. He was set to miss the initial matches of the tournament. However, now the 13 edition of the lucrative league has been postponed indefinitely.
