Despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic in the entire world, all the participating teams are focusing for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020. Former England cricket Owais Shah has recently revealed his favourite choice for winning the upcoming men’s T20 World Cup.
According to the schedule, Australia will host the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 from 18th October to 15th November 2020. A total of 16 teams will participate in this tournament, including the hosts Australia. West Indies, the only team to win the T20 World Cup for twice (2012 and 2016), will participate in this seventh edition of the tournament as the defending champions.
All other past champion teams and other full members (excluding Zimbabwe) are also in the participant list along with the top associate teams who have advanced for the upcoming tournament after playing qualifiers (full member Ireland also qualified through qualifiers). The other past Men’s T20 World Cup champions were India (2007), Pakistan (2009), England (2010) and Sri Lanka (2014).
India are the favourites to win the ICC T20 World Cup this year: Owais Shah
Talking about the forthcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Owais Shah believes that India are the favourites to win this tournament. Shah feels that India have the entire package along with a lot of experiences to win the trophy.

Shah told CricketAddictor, “India are the favourites to win the ICC T20 World Cup this year. They have a lot of experience, they play a lot of high-pressure cricket in the IPL, they have everything, they have the entire package.”
MS Dhoni-led India won the inaugural ICC World T20 2007 in South Africa after beating the arch-rivals Pakistan in the final of that tournament. Though they failed to advance for the semi-finals in the next three editions (2009, 2010 and 2012), they finished as the runners-up in 2014 and semi-finalists in 2016.

India haven’t won any ICC trophy since their victory in the ICC Champions Trophy 2013. However, since then, they have always reached at least the semi-finals stages in the ICC tournaments as they have played two finals.
