Indian Premier League (IPL), the cricket carnival, not only had special moments for players on the field but players also remember some great off-field moments. The Chennai Super Kings’ player Imran Tahir talked about his most cherished off-field moment of his son playing with the captain MS Dhoni.
During IPL 2019, after defeating Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), CSK was celebrating the victory when both Shane Watson and Imran’s son had a small race. Dhoni interrupted the race and picked up Tahir’s son in his arm and ran towards the finishing moment, leaving junior Watson behind. The video of this incident went viral on social media.
Here is the video of MS Dhoni playing with Imran Tahir’s son:

Imran Tahir told Rupha Ramani in a live YouTube chat for Chennai Super Kings that when his son Gibran will grow up, he will be delighted that he shared a special moment with a great captain like Dhoni. He also heaped the praise of CSK captain’s personality, saying that he is a wonderful human being and respects him a lot.
“It was a very special moment for my son. Very grateful to Mahi bhai. You know what a wonderful guy he is and what a wonderful captain he is. He is also a great human being. That inspires me more about him and his family,” Imran Tahir said in the YouTube chat.

“I am just so happy that he always give messages about Gibran on his birthday, which you missed this year. And yeah you know playing with him Jibran will one day, he will be like I am not sure I was Gibran. Growing up he will be like I played with MS Dhoni one of the world’s best captains.
“It’s really good of him to interact with the kids and the way he is carrying himself around people, it’s unbelievable to see. Personally I have lots and lots of respect for him and we always keep him and all the Chennai players in our prayers,” Tahir added.
Meanwhile, they would have played again if the pandemic has not played spoilsport. The IPL 2020 has been postponed indefinitely because of the outbreak of the coronavirus.
