Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif, who was the captain of India’s first victory in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup in 2000, recently revealed his best Indian captain.
Mohammad Kaif made his international debut in 2000 and played 13 Tests and 125 ODIs for the Indian team. Apart from his supportive middle-order batting, Kaif was very famous for his outstanding fielding. But due to the struggling form, Kaif didn’t play an international game since November 2006.

During his international career, Kaif played under four captains. Apart from mostly playing under Sourav Ganguly (87 matches) and Rahul Dravid (45 matches), he also served for the Indian teams which were led by Virender Sehwag (5 games) and Sachin Tendulkar (debut Test).
Sourav Ganguly is the best Indian captain: Mohammad Kaif
Recently, during a live session at Helo app, Kaif revealed that Sourav Ganguly was his best Indian captain, who led the nation to several glories.

Kaif said, “Sourav Ganguly is the best Indian captain and he’s led the country to several glories under his leadership.”
Under Ganguly’s captaincy, India tasted massive success in international cricket, both inside and outside India. While the Indian team was battling to handle the controversies at the beginning of Ganguly’s captaincies, he brought back the discipline and positive culture into the team. He inspired the team to achieve top success.
Under Ganguly’s captaincy, India won the NatWest Series 2002 in England, where Kaif played the heroic knock of unbeaten 87 runs against the hosts in the final to secure that trophy. Kaif also played an important role during Ganguly-led India’s success in the ICC Champions Trophy 2002 in Sri Lanka (Sri Lanka and India were the joint-winners), where the right-handed batsman scored 130 runs in two innings (average 130.00).

Kaif was also a regular member during Ganguly-led India’s journey in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2003 where the Indian team was the runners-up.
Mohammad Kaif, who played 186 first-class matches, 269 List A games and 75 T20s, retired from all formats of cricket in July 2018.
