One of the successful captains in international cricket history, MS Dhoni played the captaincy role of the Indian team between 2007 and 2018. During his captaincy tenure, Dhoni led the Indian team in 332 matches which are a record of most international matches as a captain. The second-best record holder is the former Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting, who played the captaincy role in 324 international matches (Australia & ICC World XI).
