Randy Orton vs. WWE Champion Drew McIntyre has been made official for the WWE Clash of Champions 2020. The pay-per-view was originally set for September 20th but it was pushed back by a week as confirmed during Payback 2020, this past Sunday. Orton became the new number-one contender on last night’s live edition of RAW by winning the Triple Threat main event over Keith Lee and Seth Rollins.

It should be noted that Rollins, Lee, and Orton qualified for the Triple Threat Number-One contender’s main event for Clash of Champions 2020 by winning singles matches earlier on the show. Lee defeated Dolph Ziggler, Orton defeated Kevin Owens (with an assist from Aleister Black who attacked Owens), and Rollins defeated Dominik Mysterio (Rey Mysterio was the originally scheduled opponent for Rollins but he is dealing with torn triceps).

Drew McIntyre is currently not present on Raw as he picked up a fractured jaw, courtesy of three punt kicks by Orton delivered to him on last week’s RAW. We can confirm that this is a storyline injury and the champion will be back, soon. The announcers noted during last night’s RAW that Orton vs. McIntyre will happen at the Clash of Champions 2020 pay-per-view only if McIntyre gets medically cleared in time.
WWE.com confirmed the potential Clash of Champions 2020 main-event with the following statement,
“Randy Orton is intent on demolishing his way to a 14th World Champion reign, but Drew McIntyre keeps stepping right back into his path.
McIntyre and Orton will meet in a WWE Title rematch at WWE Clash of Champions. The fighting champion vanquished The Viper at SummerSlam with an impressive tactical display against the self-anointed “Greatest Wrestler of All Time.” The loss didn’t sit well with The Legend Killer, who followed up with three sadistic kicks to the skull of McIntyre on the following Monday Night Raw. Despite suffering a hairline jaw fracture, McIntyre remains as motivated as ever to put an end to Orton’s reign of terror.”

Orton vs. McIntyre will be a rematch from last Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view, which saw McIntyre retain his title over Orton by pinfall.
The WWE Clash of Champions 2020 pay-per-view will air live from The ThunderDome at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. As of this writing, no other matches have been announced for the show, but we assume that Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott will challenge WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax after defeating The IIconics to become the new number-one contenders on RAW for the tag titles.
