Australian woman cricketer Alyssa Healy has eclipsed former Indian wicket-keeper MS Dhoni’s record for the most number of dismissals by a wicket-keeper in Twenty20 cricket. MS Dhoni recently announced his retirement from international cricket and has 91 dismissals to his name from behind the stumps. However, the 30-year-old, Healy has now 92 dismissals to her name and leads both men’s and women’s charts.
She achieved the record against New Zealand in the second T20I of the three-match series at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane.

Australia’s Healy excelled MS Dhoni’s previous record of the most number of dismissals from behind the stumps in T20 cricket. In 114 matches, Healy has 92 dismissals – 42 catches and 50 stumpings to her credit, while Dhoni ended his career on 91 dismissals – 57 catches & 34 stumpings.

Alyssa Healy, who is the wife of Australian pacer Michell Starc is a long way ahead of fellow women’s cricketers in her record. The next women keeper behind her is England’s Sarah Taylor with 74 dismissals.
Australia lead 2-0 in the T20I Women’s series against New Zealand
The Australians won the second match in the series by 8 wickets. They managed to get the NZ team all out for 128 with 3 wickets each from Delissa Kimmince and Georgia Wareham. Sophie Molineux got 2 wickets to her name while Nicola Carey got one. Alyssa Healy gave the Aussies a great start scoring 33 runs off 17 balls and Rached Haynes finished the game with 40 runs off 31 balls.

Australia managed to get the target with four overs remaining. The last match in the T20I series will be played on September 30th, and the Aussies will be looking for a third consecutive win against their rivals.
A three-match ODI series will be played between NZ and Australia after the T20I series, starting October 3rd. Both the teams are currently playing the first international games after the pandemic influenced lockdown.
