Finally, the greatest showman in the history of the cricket books, MS Dhoni, has officially brought down curtains on his illustrious international career. MS Dhoni took to Instagram to announce that he has retired from international cricket with immediate effect. However, he’ll play for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020).
Dhoni was last seen in the Indian colours in the semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Unfortunately, India lost the game to New Zealand and were eliminated from the competition. Since then, Dhoni has been away from the Indian team.
His return was much anticipated with the return of IPL 2020 this year as he was back to the field sweating it hard for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). However, the BCCI had to postpone the tournament indefinitely due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. And, this has again given way to speculations on Dhoni’s future with Team India.
MS Dhoni Announces Retirement From All Forms Of International Cricket
Dhoni took to Instagram on Saturday evening and wrote, “Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout.from 1929 hrs consider me as Retired.”
MS Dhoni, along with some of his CSK teammates, reached Chennai on Friday to participate in the training cam organized by Chennai Super Kings before flying to UAE for IPL 2020. A lot of speculations were doing the rounds ever since Dhoni’s walk-off last year in England and now Dhoni, himself has asserted that he has played his last for the India National Cricket Team.
