In the 15th match of the IPL 2020, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are facing Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium (Abu Dhabi). While it is the first day of the double-header in the IPL 2020, it is the first afternoon-match of this season.
Both teams are playing their fourth match of this season. In the early period of this season, both Virat Kohli-led RCB and Steven Smith-led Rajasthan Royals have won two matches each (including RCB won one Super Over) and suffered one defeat each. While both teams have earned four points each, Rajasthan Royals and RCB are standing in the 5th and 6th positions respectively in the IPL 2020 points table.
Since Rajasthan Royals have returned to the IPL in 2018 edition after completing their suspension period, RCB have never won against them. In their last four meetings since 2018, Rajasthan Royals won thrice and their last meeting had no result due to the rain interruption in the rain-curtailed match.

Rajasthan Royals captain Steven Smith won the toss and decided to bat first. They made only one alteration in the playing XI as Mahipal Lomror replaced Ankit Rajpoot
Smith said after winning the toss, “We’ll bat first. It’s a day game, pretty warm out here. We got one change, Lomror comes in for Ankit. It’s a long tournament, you are going to win games, lose games. Hopefully, we’ll put on a good show today. Ben is a quality player, adds to our squad once he’s here.”
In the meantime, after losing the toss, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli confirmed that they are starting with the unchanged playing XI.
Kohli said, “It’s dry heat, but it’s not so bad. We are playing with the same XI. We wanted to bat first as it’s a day game, better to get into the game in the first six overs of the match. Getting a strong squad together, it’s good to see the youngsters doing the job for us, that’s what we have focused on. Dube contribution, Chahal’s always a banker and AB does what he is good at doing.”
