India can not afford his injury with Virat Kohli already going back to India to attend the birth of his first child. Ishant Sharma has also not toured with the Indian team because he is still regaining his full fitness. India will pray that Shami’s injury is not big and the player gets fit for the coming Boxing Day Test.

Mohammed Shami didn’t pick a wicket with a pink ball albeit he didn’t play in Australia’s second innings because of injury. However, he was bowling at accurate length and line to put Australians under pressure.

Earlier, India has an unusual fall of batting order on day three. Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins bundled out India, picking five and four wickets respectively. With this, Australia has gained the lead in the Test series.
