Roman Reigns opened things for SmackDown while talking about how he did some great things, last year. Kevin Owens came out and pointed out how Jey Uso is the reason why Roman is still holding the belt. So he intended to fight Uso before the night was over. When it’s done, he’d be coming for Reigns, again.

WWE Smackdown Results (01/01/21): Big E vs King Corbin

Big E competed in the opening match of SmackDown against King Baron Corbin who came out with The Knights of The Lone Wolf – Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler. E hit Corbin with the Big Ending soon after the match began but Sami Zayn interfered and prevented him from getting the pinfall win. Apollo Crews ran out to the ring to make the save.

A tag team match then began on SmackDown with the lineup of Big E and Apollo Crews vs. Sami Zayn and King Corbin. Sami almost hit a Helluva Kick on Corbin as the latter opted to leave the ring. Crews caught Sami with a step-up enziguri and then the sitdown powerbomb in the middle of the ring to get the win.
