WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff recently gave an opinion on a potential change on the commentary teams of professional wrestling promotions. Eric Bischoff believes there should be two commentary teams in every professional wrestling promotion.
By two commentary teams, Bischoff did not mean the way WWE organise their shows with different commentator teams. As we have seen WWE has different commentary teams for all their shows. Arguably the NXT commentary team is the more entertaining than the rest.

Eric Bischoff Believes Wrestling Shows Should Have Two Separate Announce Teams
Eric Bischoff meant something else. He wants to say that one show must be covered by at least two different commentary teams. Like if a show is two hour long, the first award should be covered by one team and the second one should be covered by a completely different commentary team.
This may sound a little weird, but this can be an amazing idea if implemented well. If this actually happens, it will seem like that we are watching two completely different shows. Commentary is a big deal in any sports show. Especially in professional wrestling, commentary is sometimes the heart and soul of the show. So the idea is pretty unique and great.

During a recent episode of 83 wWeeks, Eric Bischoff talked about his view on having two commentary team in one single show. He said;
“The idea of going to two separate announce teams was simply….I think listening to the same color and play-by-play team for two hours can be draining, especially in wrestling. It can be draining. I wanted each hour to feel like a distinct separate show. You’re still watching Nitro, but I wanted as much distinction between the two as possible.

“So, that was the reason for going with two color and play-by-play teams. I still think it’s a good idea. I’d suggest it if anybody gives a shit. I still think it applies to this day. Whether you know it or not as a producer, the average viewer, it’s hard to listen to the same two individuals call color and play-by-play for two hours. It just is.”
