After suffering 4 back to back defeats, Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) finally clinched a win against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Hyderabad on Tuesday night. Ashok Dinda got a chance to play in the match for RPS and he ended this game, receiving player of the match award.

After winning the toss, RPS decided to bowl first in a rain-interrupted match. Right from the start of the match, RPS started brightly as Dinda lead the bowling attack. He ended with the figures of 4-1-23-3 while the home team SRH only managed to score 118/8 in 20 overs. In reply, RPS chased the total comfortably before the rain interrupted once again. RPS was at 94/3 in 11 overs before the rain, hence, they won the match by 34 runs via the D-L method.

It was the second win for RPS in the ongoing IPL 2016 after the win in the opening game of the tournament against Mumbai Indians. Ashok Dinda was a big part in the against SRH and also took his new IPL team in with a fighting chance in this tournament.

At the post-match press conference, the forgotten Indian pacer said, “It’s very nice to win the match. It was important. We played well, batting and bowling and fielding also.”

When Dinda was asked if the rain helped them to win the match, the right-arm fast bowler said, “No, sometimes it’s disturbing. Because, we are going and coming back again. For batsmen, it is very tough.”

In the very first over of the match, Dinda dismissed in-form SRH batsman David Warner and celebrated that wicket in football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo’s (CR7) celebration style.

Dinda also spoke about that wicket in the post-match press conference as he said, “A plan was there for Warner… just hit the perfect area and bowl incoming deliveries to David Warner. For me, it was out swing, for him it was in swing. That was the plan, just wicket to wicket bowling.”
