Despite all the rumors, it seems like Cardi B will not be able to host the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view. It was rumored, earlier this summer that WWE had plans for the rapper to host the second biggest PPV event of the summer. That was seemingly confirmed after WWE announced her “Up” single as the SummerSlam 2021 theme song, but the company has never confirmed anything regarding the hosting gig.
Cardi B, making an appearance to host SummerSlam 2021 has been in the air ever since she was announced pregnant with her second child in late June. In an update to the situation, it’s now been revealed that the rapper is due to give birth around mid-September, just a few weeks after the WWE pay-per-view. A new court filing for a lawsuit she is involved has also noted that she has been advised to avoid traveling. This should be a valid reason why she won’t be coming to a WWE TV appearance.

Cardi B is currently pregnant
Cardi B’s lawyer has asked a judge to push back her mid-September court battle against blogger Tasha K due to the pregnancy, according to AllHipHop. The trial for the $75,000 defamation and slander lawsuit against the blogger was due to begin on September 13. But now the rapper’s lawyer is asking to have the trial date delayed to November 8 because she is due to give birth that same week, around September 15.

Also, a new court filing by Cardi B’s attorney notes that the rapper will be unable to attend the trial on the currently scheduled dates because she is dealing with the pregnancy. It was also mentioned in that same note that her OBGYN has advised her that she should not travel for a period of time before and after the delivery. So she shouldn’t be traveling from her home in Atlanta to the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for WWE SummerSlam.

WWE President & Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan spoke with Alfred Konuwa of Forbes back in February (Cardi B made several WWE-related tweets and got into a short beef with Lacey Evans on Twitter after being name-dropped during the RAW Legends Night) to hint at the rapper’s potential appearance in WWE. At that time when WWE had a successful angle ongoing with rapper Bad Bunny. Hence Khan confirmed that they also had eyes for Cardi B but they weren’t able to bag her for Summerslam for unavoidable circumstances.
