We are less than two weeks away from the Summerslam PPV event as WWE Raw continues the builds, this week with a brand new episode. While no official matches for the show have been noted for this week, two segments have been hinted where the WWE Champion is confirmed alongside the former Raw Women’s Champion, Charlotte Flair. Also, a new title match is expected to be announced when the red brand airs its latest episode from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.
WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg vs. WWE Champion Bobby Lashley was made official for SummerSlam. As seen on last week’s WWE Raw, Goldberg returned to confront Lashley in the ring, taunting him in his face. He then declared that Lashley is next at SummerSlam. After Goldberg went to the back, MVP and Lashley taunted his son at ringside. MVP continued talking trash to Goldberg’s son which led Goldberg to come back out and deliver a spear on MVP.

Lashley later accepted Goldberg’s SummerSlam in a backstage segment who also invited Goldberg’s son to the match so he can watch him get annihilated. WWE Champion will give the bygones an address on the upcoming edition of WWE Raw while he will also speak on his upcoming SummerSlam title defense against the legendary Goldberg. While Lashley is scheduled for the appearance, Goldberg isn’t being advertised to appear on the show.
WWE Raw Preview (09/08/21): Charlotte Flair addresses WWE Universe
Another segment has been promoted for the show where Charlotte Flair will be on the show to address last week’s non-title loss to WWE RAW Women’s Champion Nikki Cross A.S.H. During the main event, the champ defeated Flair in a No Holds Barred contest via clean pinfall loss. The WWE website mentioned that Flair will speak to the WWE Universe to address this clean pinfall defeat,
“Has The Queen been shaken? After suffering a defeat at the hands of Raw Women’s Champion Nikki A.S.H. in a No Holds Barred Match, Charlotte Flair will speak to the WWE Universe this Monday on Raw. How will the 11-time Women’s Champion handle the loss ahead of her Triple Threat Match with A.S.H. and Rhea Ripley at SummerSlam?”
In another championship scenario on WWE Raw, Sheamus has been in the middle of a feud against Ricochet for weeks which has now added Damian Priest to the mix. Last week, in a tag team match, the two babyfaces defeated The Celtic Warrior and John Morrison. Prior to that, Ricochet made the save for Priest from Sheamus. Since Priest already scored a pinfall win over Sheamus, it’s likely that Priest will get a shot to his United States Title at Summerslam 2021.
More matches should be confirmed from the red side for the upcoming PPV involving Jinder Mahal-Drew McIntyre and Eva Marie-Alexa Bliss. We have seen the feuds featuring these names picking up with each passing week and big PPV match confirmations regarding them should be given when WWE Raw airs with the latest episode.
