Chelsea Green, one of the brightest female talents from the wrestling circuit has been released by the WWE, earlier this year. The budget-cutting policy of the company has caused several such harsh releases over the span of a year and a half and many of them were shocking. The former Hot Mess of Impact Wrestling was one of those names whose firing from the company raised eyebrows as she’s been seen as a quality talent by many.

Now, WWE reportedly made contact with Chelsea Green not to hire her back but rather to inform her that they were going to release the trademark on her name, according to a report by Fightful Select. The superstar herself confirmed the news to the source, afterward. Plus, she has also said that she would be speaking more about it on the next episode of her Green With Envy podcast. So, you have to keep updated about the situation.

I never thought I’d be in a legal battle for my BIRTH GIVEN name… ?
Going to discuss it on tomorrow’s episode of @GreenWEnvyPod— CHELSEA GREEN (@ImChelseaGreen) August 8, 2021
Reports were already out regarding this as WWE already filed a trademark for “Chelsea Green” last year and at first, it seems like they were trying to keep her name, despite the fact that she was no more under their banner.
Chelsea Green unhappy with WWE’s actions?
Obviously, this whole act was not liked by the talent as would react to it using her Twitter handle, “I never thought I’d be in a legal battle for my BIRTH GIVEN name. Going to discuss it on tomorrow’s episode of @GreenWEnvyPod.”
It should be noted that Chelsea Green herself started the process to trademark her name back in April. It’s yet to be learned whether a legal battle could start over her name in the near future. At present, she has already made appearances in Impact Wrestling with fiancée Matt Cordona while she will be participating in the ROH Bound for Glory PPV event.
Also, she will be making her NWA debut later this month at EmPowerrr event. Chelsea Green joins Tootie Lynn and Jamie Senegal as confirmed participants in the inaugural NWA Women’s Invitational. As Mickie James has previously announced, she will be working the EmPowerrr main event and it appears she is set to wrestle the last participant in the finals. The remaining participants will be announced soon.
