After some doubts and confusion over the past few days, it appears that Sasha Banks vs. Bianca Belair over WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship is on for WWE SummerSlam 2021. It was reported by sources that there was some internal concern that this match may end up getting pulled from the pay-per-view event.
This came after the two missed the non-televised WWE Supershow live events this past weekend in North Carolina and then they missed another house show in South Carolina. It was announced that they were off the shows due to “unforeseen circumstances” while no other details for the absence were given.

According to a previous report by PWInsider, multiple sources within WWE noted that there are doubts over Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair competing in their scheduled match at WWE SummerSlam. Despite those absences and speculations, the company didn’t make any official statement on the match.
“PWInsider.com has spoken with several sources inside the company who expressed concern their announced match will not take place at Summerslam this weekend, but there is nothing confirmed in that regard,” was the update mentioned by the source.

Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair should appear on Smackdown
In a positive update, Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair are likely to be out from those unknown circumstances prohibiting them from doing appearances. They are now “cleared” for in-ring action and that “something unforeseen” factor is no more in effect. Hence they will be performing at SummerSlam on Saturday, according to PWInsider.
The source also noted that Sasha Banks and the champion will be in attendance at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona for this Friday’s SummerSlam go-home edition of SmackDown on FOX. Carmella vs. Belair is advertised locally for SmackDown which may end up being a dark match. Only time will tell whether that match is still intact on the card. Furthermore, WWE also has Bianca Belair advertised for Sunday’s post-SummerSlam Supershow live event at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.
In the meantime, Sasha Banks vs. Bianca Belair at SummerSlam will be a much-anticipated rematch from their WrestleMania 37 Night One main event match on April 10. That was the night where Banks dropped the belt since winning it from Bayley in October.
