England pacer Stuart Broad has shown his disappointment for not being picked in two Ashes tests at Brisbane and Melbourne. Australia has already retained the Ashes as they beat comprehensively the visitors at Melbourne to take an unassailable lead of 3-0 with two tests to go.
However 35-year old pacer reiterated that he is still hungry for success and still optimistic that England will turn things around in the last two tests. But he pointed out that he could have made a better impact in the series if England read the conditions well to utilize him properly.

“As a wobble-seam bowler, I feel as though I missed out on two of the best wobble-seam pitches (Brisbane and Melbourne) in Australia. Only playing once has made this a very disappointing trip, one that has not met my personal expectations,” Broad wrote in his column for Dailymail.
He also pointed out that England lost two crucial tosses in the last two matches at Adelaide and Melbourne. He also said that he would love to bowl in Melbourne where there was lots of help for the pacers.
“We also lost two vital tosses in Adelaide and Melbourne. They were massive. I’ve never seen so much thatchy grass on a pitch than that at the MCG — enough to make bowlers drool and batsmen weep,” he wrote

“I saw Shane Warne walking out to the middle on the first morning when the groundsman Matthew Page was marking the crease. ‘Matt, a quick game is a good game,’ he shouted over to him,” he added.
Broad played in only one test in this series as he picked only two wickets in the pink ball Test at Adelaide. England management has been criticized for not picking Anderson and Broad in the opening test at Brisbane as Joe Root chose to bat first under gloomy conditions on the first morning.
As England is trailing by 0-3, the prospect of whitewash is looming large as the visitors struggled to compete in any of the 3 departments. So far in the history of the Ashes, there were 3 times when Australia clean swept the series by 5-0, in 1920-21 under captain Warwick Armstrong, in 2006-7 under Ricky Ponting, and in 2013-14 under Michael Clarke.
“Over three matches, they have been better in every department. They’ve scored more runs, taken their catches, and bowled us out cheaply. They have thumped us in that regard. They scored more than 400 twice in the first two matches and then 267 in the third Test, which we didn’t manage in two innings,” Broad stated.
The fourth Ashes Test will be played from January 5 in Sydney.
