India wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson said that he learned from his mistakes in the past and now he wants to make out of the opportunity he got in Team India.
Sanju Samson was selected for this series after a long gap of 6 months. In the first match, he didn’t even get a chance to bat but in the second game, he played a sparkling inning of 22-ball 39. He started very tentatively but as the innings progressed, he got his confidence back.

“It took me time. When you play after a gap, it takes time. This time, however, the restrictions due to quarantine and bio-bubble further extended the time. But as I continued to bat, I gained the rhythm,” Sanju Samson spoke to Star Sports ahead of the third T20I.
He also revealed that he learned a lot from the experience of India A matches, IPL and his domestic team Kerala and he is getting better with it.
“I get to play a lot of matches, in the IPL and for India A and of course the domestic season. I keep reading about my game as well and I think I’m getting better at it. With experience, I’m understanding my game better.” Sanju Samson said.

“There are such high standards in the Indian team”- Sanju Samson
“Earlier, when I was a youngster, I used to go for six on every delivery just because I thought I could hit those sixes. With time, I realized that it is important to spend time in the middle as well. Then, I can be more consistent. So, I’ve gained some experience on my game,” he added.
When he was asked if he has his eyes to fix his place for the T20 World Cup, he said that there is a big competition for places in the Indian team and he is not thinking too far ahead.
“Absolutely. There are such high standards in the Indian team. You have to make the use of each and every opportunity. If you keep capitalizing on those opportunities, you will automatically get a place in the side. So contributing to the team’s success remains the most important thing,” Sanju Samson said.
