WWE News: Big championship plans around AJ Styles 1

Since after his spectacular debut on this year’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view event, AJ Styles proved to the Phenomenal One indeed and showed the potential to be the next golden goose for the company. He had got the opportunity to compete for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship within the 3rd month from his debut. He faced the current champion in the last two PPV’s, Payback and Extreme Rules where he was not given with the championship belt since WWE has to push someone known as “Roman Reigns” and his so-called “Roman Reigns.”
But, perhaps Styles’ role of being a jobber is over as dailywrestlingnews.com reports that, Vince McMahon is impressed by Styles’ performance, so much so that he will be pushed towards a title run in just months to come. The fans are on their feet for Styles all the time and WWE especially considered his merchandise sales which are on a good roll, as of late after he had worked with Reigns in two consecutive pay-per-views.
The report also suggests that Vince McMahon surely considers AJ Styles as a big time main event player and also likes his work style. There’s no indication about his direction after the brand split comes into fruition but the decision of turning Styles heel was made weeks prior to the Memorial Day edition of Monday Night Raw where he turned on John Cena and got along on the same page with The Club.

Previously it was reported that John Cena will probably move to the blue brand to give it a boost. Alongside Cena, AJ Styles will be another one who is supposed to be the marquee attraction for Smackdown. Smackdown will get its own world championship like the previous World Heavyweight Championship. Cena and Styles will fight it out for the divided belt on WWE Smackdown and probably Styles is the one to capture it for the first time.
On the other hand, if Styles does not move to Smackdown then the Club will most probably interfere in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match to insert himself once again into the WWE championship title picture on Raw. Though, as of now, these are all just speculations as Styles first has to deal with the man with Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect, John Cena.
