Team News and talking points:
In the 1st WI vs IND T20I, Team India continued their experiments with the playing eleven in order to test different players and combination ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia.
The first and most notable experiment was to try out Suryakumar Yadav as an opener. While many were expecting Rishabh Pant to open along with Rohit Sharma, the team-management tried out a different combination.
India also surprisingly left out in-form Deepak Hooda to make room for Shreyas Iyer, thus making it clear that the team-management is willing to give the latter a longer rope. Iyer, however, could not make the most of it and was out for a 4-ball duck.

Arshdeep Singh once again showed that he could be India’s trump card in the upcoming T20 World Cup. After impressing on his debut in England earlier this month, the left-arm pacer impressed once again and picked up 2 wickets while conceding at 6 runs per over.
Ravichandran Ashwin is still not out of the race for a spot in the World Cup squad. Making his comeback, Ashwin was preferred ahead of Kuldeep Yadav and he made the most of it by picking up 2 wickets.
