The Road to Clash at the Castle continues as the WWE Smackdown brigade makes a stop in Canada for a special episode, this week. Roman Reigns is the headliner of the show as he comes face-to-face with his current challenger.
WWE Women’s tag team tournament will continue on the show with an already confirmed lineup. Plus, The Viking Raiders will have a special offering for their rivals on the August 19 episode of the blue brand that takes place at the Bell Center in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Legendary Trish Stratus Returning To WWE Live Events This Weekend
Roman Reigns has already surpassed 700 days as Universal Champion after successfully defending his title at Summerslam 2022. Moving forward, he is booked for another title defense at Clash at the Castle against Drew McIntyre. The two are confirmed to feature in a confrontation in the potential main event segment of WWE Smackdown.
There have been some rumors on the internet about Drew McIntyre’s current health status. Appearing on Raw, he confirmed that confirmed he’s working through a back injury. But that didn’t stop him from going up against Kevin Owens in a match and then dealing with Reigns’ right-hand men The Usos.
Prior to that, McIntyre also took several shots at Roman Reigns for working in a part-time schedule despite holding the two world titles in the company. But after he defeats The Head of the Table for the Undisputed Universal WWE Championship at Clash of the Castle, The Scottish Warrior plans on wrestling every week, on every show.
That being said, McIntyre is quite eager to say these words to the face of the dual champion, Roman Reigns on WWE Smackdown. The last time the two had confronted, Karrion Kross crashed the scene. Given the lineup of the title, the match remains one-on-one, and chances are low that Kross will be interfering.
Sasha Banks Dazzles In She-Hulk Premiere Amid 2022 WWE Return Rumors
During last week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Ronda Rousey invaded the show through the crowd with a bag in hand just before the contract signing between SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan and Shayna Baszler was supposed to go down.
The crowd was delighted to see Rousey as she said that she was fined a whole lot of money. Hence, she dumped a bunch of cash on the table and claimed that this probably won’t be the last time she’s fined because “being the baddest is expensive.”
There’s no update on how Rousey will be utilized on TV once her suspension gets lifted. Meanwhile, she is still listed to compete in a match at Clash at the Castle. Moreover, WWE Smackdown is also advertising her, indicating that she should be onboard, tonight gunning for the women’s title.
WWE Smackdown Preview (19/08/22): The Viking Funeral offering

The Viking Raiders have been in a massacring mode since their return on WWE Smackdown, a few months ago. They’ve already injured Xavier Woods of The New Day. Then, last week, Kofi Kingston tried to punish them with kendo sticks but things backfired as he ended up receiving a beatdown.
Now that both the members of The New Day are out of action, The Viking Raiders will host a “Viking Funeral” in memory of the former WWE Smackdown tag team champions. If reports are any indications then, these two teams are likely to lock horns at Clash at the Castle.

WWE began a tournament for the vacant WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, two weeks ago on Raw that continued through last week’s Smackdown. In the first-round matchup, Shotzi and Xia Li went up against the team of Raquel Rodriquez and Aliyah and the latter duo emerged, victorious.
Now this team will wait for their opponents in the semifinals, to be determined during this week’s episode of WWE Smackdown. The team of Sonya Deville and Natalya will collide against NXT 2.0 stars, Nikkita Lyons and Zoey Stark in the only confirmed match lineup, as of this writing
