Sasha Banks is and will always be a trailblazer in the history of the WWE Women’s Division whether she’s with the company or not. We haven’t seen her on WWE programming for almost a year now and there’s no way that she will be seen given that now she’s part of the NJPW roster to explore new options.
One of the main reasons for Sasha Banks to move into NJPW from WWE’s banner is the fact that she would love to work only on a limited schedule rather than experience the grueling schedule of the WWE. This would also allow her to possibly go through mainstream ventures including movie projects.

Sasha Banks is not a new name when it comes to Hollywood. Now, Deadline reports the real-life Mercedes Varnado has grabbed a role in the upcoming action-thriller film “The Collective.” Filming of the movie has already been done. The movie produced by Yale Entertainment will also have Lucas Till, Ruby Rose, Tyrese Gibson, Don Johnson, and Paul Ben-Victor as part of the cast.
Deadline released a synopsis about this film starring former WWE Superstar Sasha Banks that reads as follows:
“a group of righteous assassins called The Collective take aim at a highly sophisticated human trafficking ring backed by a network of untouchable billionaires. With their backs against the wall, The Collective has no choice but to put their most important mission in the hands of rookie assassin, Sam Alexander (Till).”
Hugo (Gibson) and Liam (Johnson), former CIA operatives turned rogue vigilantes will be helping Till in the mission as they face off against Daisy (Rose), described as “the cunning general manager of this evil, clandestine organization.”

As for Sasha Banks, she will be playing Nikita, “the blade-wielding company pit-bull and chief of security,” who watches the back of Miro Lindell, played by Ben-Victor, the “auctioneer to a seedy underground cabal of billionaires bidding on human lives.”
As noted above, Sasha Banks made her Hollywood debut in 2020 as Koska Reeves in the second season of the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. She was still with the WWE but last year, she walked out of the company along with Trinity Fatu (Naomi in WWE) creative differences regarding the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. They were these title-holders, back then.

After staying away from TV for a long time, Sasha Banks returned to pro wrestling as Mercedes Mone at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17, earlier this month. Now, she will challenge KAIRI for the IWGP Women’s Championship at NJPW Battle in the Valley on Saturday, February 18, from the San Jose Civic in San Jose, California.
