For weeks now, MJF raised the stacks against his current challenger Bryan Danielson but that didn’t stop setting up the AEW Revolution 2023 PPV main event. Danielson will now challenge AEW World Champion MJF in a 60-minute Iron Man Match at the upcoming pay-per-view event with the AEW world championship hanging in the balance.
Danielson demanded this match at AEW Revolution 2023 in January, and initially, MJF agreed to it but he would only do so on the condition that Danielson had to keep his winning streak intact against a series of opponents that he would handpick. Due to this, Danielson had previously defeated Konosuke Takeshita, Bandido, Brian Cage, and Timothy Thatcher.

After the match, MJF proceeded to hit Danielson in the head with the Dynamite Diamond Ring and locked in The Salt of the Earth arm bar. Since he refused to relinquish the hold, security, and officials arrived at the scene to free Danielson from MJF.

Heading into AEW Revolution 2023, MJF has been the AEW World Heavyweight Champion since defeating Jon Moxley at the 2022 AEW Full Gear, last November. Following this, the top heel of the AEW also won the Dynamite Diamond Ring for a third straight year by eliminating Ricky Starks at Dynamite: Winter is Coming episode in December.
After that win, Danielson got into a feud against MJF to secure the main event match of AEW Revolution where the former WWE Superstar finally gets an opportunity to win the world title in the AEW promotion, trying to ruin the party for MJF.
