Mohammad Amir, who spearheads Karachi Kings’ bowling attack in PSL 8, will face Pakistan’s all-format captain Babar when his side plays their opening match against Peshawar Zalmi on February 14 at National Bank Cricket Arena.
Mohammad Amir has claimed that he would have no difference if he face Babar Azam or a tailender hitter because he is only concerned with doing his job, which is to take a wicket. Speaking to the ARY News program PSL Special Amir said:
“These kinds of matchups and player rivalries, keep players on their toes,”
He further went on to add that these challenges kept him focused and his job is to take wickets for his team
“I like these sort of challenges because it keeps me focused. My job is to take wickets and win matches for my team, so for me, facing Babar or a tailender batting at number 10 will be the same”

Ahead of the eighth edition of the PSL, skipper Babar Azam has left the franchise Karachi Kings and joined Peshawar Zalmi.
“If Mohammad Amir Continues To Perform, He Will Be In Contention For Selection Like other players,” – Haroon Rashid
Last week, during a press conference, Pakistan Chief Selector Haroon Rashid commented that Amir could play international cricket for Pakistan again if he takes back his retirement. Left-arm pacer Amir announced his shock retirement from international cricket in December 2020 at the age of 28, citing mental health issues.
“In Amir’s case, I am not sure about his status. I have heard he is thinking of taking his retirement back. It is good that he is playing. If he continues to perform, he will be in contention for selection like other players.”
He also stated that there were no restrictions imposed on the selection of Amir as long as he makes himself available for selection. Amir has represented Pakistan in 36 Tests, 61 ODIs, and 50 T20Is, claiming 259 international scalps in total.
