Luis Suarez returned from injury as Uruguay beat England 2-1 to keep their hopes alive in the World Cup.
Suarez scored two goals to take England down as the Liverpool forward returned from a knee injury. Glen Johnson and Daniel Sturridge combined to set up Wayne Rooney‘s debut goal in the World Cup. Suarez once again proved why he is up there with the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo and his determination was stronger than ever to prove his critics wrong.
Piers Morgan thinks Suarez wanted it more than anyone in the England team.
Suarez is a sensational striker, but our defending against him has been woeful all night. #ENGvURU

Jagielka was to be blamed for the first goal, according to James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo.
Poor from Jagielka. You can’t give Suarez that kind of space. Hart no chance. England facing elimination. #URU #ENG #URU #ENG

Suarez was as clinical as ever, scoring for both shots on target.

Tony Barrett of The Times pointed out Roy Hodgson‘s mistakes in a series of tweets.
Forget who played badly for England. Who actually played well? That’s the key question. For me, those players are too good to be that bad.

Baines is a great player. His biggest strength is overlapping. What does he get? A system that restricts his ability to get forward.

Henderson and Gerrard have been brilliant in a midfield three. What did they get? A midfield two that left them exposed.

Sterling shone as a number ten in the first game. What did he get in game two? Shifted out wide & his impact greater reduced.

Barkley’s biggest strength is his fearlessness & willingness to run at players. What did he get? Told to take fewer risks.

Rooney is a great player. His biggest strength is getting into the box. What did he get initially? A system that wasted him out wide.

The more times I look at Uruguay’s goals I think Jagielka should never start for England again. #Nomansland
